About

Joshua Brucker is an independent filmmaker, writer, director, and producer known for his work in horror, particularly found-footage and documentary-style filmmaking. Based in Illinois, Brucker has built a body of work focused on grounded storytelling, unsettling atmosphere, and the idea that the most frightening stories can feel disturbingly real.

A longtime fan of horror, Brucker developed an interest in filmmaking through his fascination with found-footage films such as The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. His filmmaking style draws heavily from the genre’s ability to create tension through realism, isolation, and the feeling that the audience is watching something they were never meant to see.

Brucker is a filmmaker with Horror Dadz Productions, where he has written, directed, and produced numerous independent horror projects. His films include Mothman, Untitled Footage, The Woodmen, The Fairfield County Four, No Witnesses (2026), and Night Terror (2026).

Brucker’s approach to filmmaking emphasizes making stories feel authentic and accessible while creating horror from familiar environments and everyday fears. His work reflects a belief that independent filmmaking doesn’t require massive budgets to tell compelling stories; only a strong concept, creative problem-solving, and a willingness to make the audience question what they’re watching.
